Low Calorie Beers (that are enjoyable)
Low Calorie Beers and I am not talking about Michelob Ulta…
Did you participate in Dry January too? My boyfriend and I decided to go on a Paleo Diet for 30 days, no beer for 30 days… crazy. It was a great reset after the holidays but I am ready for some beers.
So why lo-cal beers? Maybe you want to ease back into drinking since you’ve been beerless for 30 days. Maybe you are counting calories and are tired of spiked seltzers, or maybe you are looking for some crushable go to summer beers?
I created a list of low calorie beers that are actually enjoyable. I rated each beer on a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being horrible and 5 being amazing. FYI, I wouldn’t put horrible beers on my blog.
Note*: This rating is just for Low Calorie Beers! I do not think these beers are the best but they are they are pretty good for being under 120 calories.
I understand that some of these beers may not be sold at your local package store (I mean liquor store - sorry I am from New England). I did some research and came across some other low calorie beers. Give them a try and make sure you write your review in the comments section!
DayTime (Rating: 4.5)
Beer: DayTime
Beer type: IPA
Brewery: Lagunitas Brewing Company
State: California
ABV: 4.0%
98 Calories | Carbs: 3
This is a perfect, crisp, light low calorie IPA. Honestly this may be my go-to summer boating beer. Also, I am no wine expert, but I think this beer has less carbs than a glass of wine.
Wowza
(Rating: 4.3)
Beer: Wowza Hazy Pale Ale
Beer type: Hazy
Brewery: Deschutes
State: Oregon
ABV: 4.0%
100 Calories | Carbs 4
This is a nice light & crisp beer! Has the hazy flavor. Not sure if I will be saving too many calories since I can crush three cans in the same time I can drink one IPA…. so definitely consider this a crushable beer.
Light Hearted Ale
(Rating 4.0)
Beer: Light Hearted Ale
Beer type: American IPA
Brewery: Bell’s Brewery
State: Michigan
ABV: 3.7% | Carbs: 8.7
110 Calories
So this might be my favorite hoppy flavor lo-cal IPA. Its super light in body, with a good balance of malt and hops. The only reason I rate it a little lower than the others is that its over 100 calories and 8.7 carbs.
The Purist Clean Lager (3.9)
Beer: The Purist Clean Lager
Beer type: Lager
Brewery: New Belgium
State: Colorado
ABV: 3.8%
Calories: 95 | Carbs: 3g
Light and refreshing lager! This is a perfect lo-cal beer for indulging in summer activities without feeling too bloated. This is the lightest out of all the lo-cal beers that I have tried.
Ska Aggrolite (Rating 4.1)
Beer: Ska Aggrolite Lo-Cal IPA
Type: IPA
Brewery:Ska Brewing
State: Colorado
ABV: 4.2%

Refreshing, light, and a super gentle IPA. I recommend the non-IPA lovers to give this a try to ease your way in to liking IPAs. Overall crushable beer and only 99 calories.
Resolution
(Rating 4.3)
Beer: Resolution
Type: Blueberry Acai Golden Ale
Brewery: Breckenridge Brewery
State: Colorado
ABV: 3.5%
Calories: 98| Carbs: N/A
Really loved the crispness & fruitiness flavors of the blueberry and acai. Very easy drinking beer. Another go-to day drinking summer beer. 100% better than a White Claw.

(Rating 3.9)
Beer: Oskar Blues One-y
Type: Hazy IPA
Brewery: Oskar Blues Brewery

For a lightweight Hazy IPA, this beer is good! It’s crushable, with a mix of citrus and piney hops.
